Counselling is supportive, safe and non-judgmental.
If you’re looking to improve your quality of life, regain a sense of control, or reconnect with your body, Counselling is for you.
The focus of individual therapy is to build trust, so that you, or your child, can explore any of life’s challenges.
Counselling is directed by you and occurs at your pace. You will receive a personalised treatment plan, using a range of evidence-based strategies.
What evidence-based strategies do you use?
Trauma-Focused Therapy: Specifically designed for helping individuals who have experienced trauma.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing): Healing from trauma and distressing memories.
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy: Identifying and changing negative thought patterns.
Person-Centred Therapy: Creating a non-judgmental, empathetic and accepting environment.
Psychodynamic Therapy: Linking unconscious thoughts to past experiences.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy: A goal-directed and short-term approach.
Narrative Therapy: Reshaping and re-writing your story.
Art Therapy: A creative way to express feelings and explore issues.
Play Therapy: Using children’s natural form of communication.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: Helping to accept difficult emotions and thoughts.
Is everything I say confidential?
The content of therapy sessions is almost always kept confidential, for adults and children. However, if there are risks to the safety of a child, or a Subpoena is served, confidentiality may be breached. If this is relevant, you will be made aware and involved in the process.
