An Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) is a qualified Social Worker who has received additional accreditation to provide specialist mental health services.
An AMHSW has specialist mental health training and experience including:
Extensive supervised experience in mental health settings (e.g., hospitals, community health, private practice).
At least 2 years of post-qualification mental health experience.
Because of this specialist training, an AMHSW can provide services under Medicare.

You don’t need a referral to engage in therapy.
However, if you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you will be eligible for rebated sessions.

Trauma-informed therapy is a type of mental health treatment that recognises and responds to the impact of trauma on a person's life, behaviour, and emotional well-being.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, it looks at how past traumatic experiences - like abuse, violence, neglect, or loss - affect a person’s current functioning.
Key principles of trauma-informed therapy are;
Safety.
Connection.
Trust.
Consistency.
Choice and empowerment.

Individuals aged 3 to 30 years, who have experienced sexual abuse are Tori’s main client group.
However, Tori is well experienced working with individuals of all backgrounds, experiencing a wide range of issues.

As a general rule, Tori doesn’t offer couples or family therapy.
However, Tori does acknowledge that the first few sessions can be scary. For this reason, support people are invited to attend until client’s feel comfortable to be there on their own.
